The Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute (ACEI) was incorporated in the State of California in 1994. ACEI is a Charter and Endorsed Member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE), a not-for-profit professional association that approves and endorses private credential evaluation services in the U.S.
ACEI is dedicated to the advancement of international academic exchange and understanding through the dissemination of information on world educational systems and evaluation of international educational credentials.
ACEI works closely with U.S. colleges and universities, Professional State Licensing Boards, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (Immigration Division) and the Human Resource Departments of several U.S. corporations with the evaluation and verification of international educational credentials. ACEI’s professional services are also applicable to institutions of higher education, government agencies and multinational corporations outside the U.S. that require assistance and information on education systems, credentials and evaluation methodology.
Our organization is actively involved in the training and professional development of practitioners at institutions of higher education, professional licensing and examining boards, and agencies engaged in recruitment, advising, and placement of international students in the U.S. and around the globe on matters concerning world educational systems, credential evaluation, diploma mills, and detecting document fraud.
With a combined total of more than eighty years of experience in international education coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. system of education, ACEI’s professional team of credential evaluators and counselors are engaged in all aspects of international educational exchange and participate in the activities of major organizations in the field. Their diverse backgrounds, knowledge of international languages, and overseas experiences contribute to the overall success of ACEI.
ACEI’s evaluations and the U.S. educational equivalencies recommended in ACEI evaluation reports are determined in accordance with established guidelines and represent the considered judgments of qualified evaluators. As Charter and Endorsed Member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators, ACEI adheres to the approved Standards and Best Practices established by the Association. ACEI evaluation reports, before issued and released to the applicant and third party, are each reviewed for accuracy and consistency by a team of senior evaluators serving on the ACEI Evaluation Review Committee. OUR EXECUTIVE TEAM
Jasmin Saidi-Kuehnert
President & CEOJasmin Saidi-Kuehnert is the founder, President and CEO of Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, Inc. (ACEI). She is a published author and speaker on world education systems and advises institutions and organizations on emerging markets, credential evaluation standards and building global pathways initiatives. She has served as chaired of committees of professional associations such as NAFSA: Association of International Educators, AACRAO, and AICE. Currently, she is the Chair of the International Education Standards Council that oversees the country profiles and credential advice for AACRAO’s Electronic Database on Global Education (EDGE). She is also the President of the Board of Directors of the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE), a non-profit professional association for credential evaluation service providers in the U.S. Jasmin holds a BA in Political Science from the University of San Diego and MBA from Pepperdine University. Jasmin is the recipient of the 2023 national award for Excellence in International Education from the Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) presented each year to one of the Association’s members for leadership, publications, contributions and special projects.
Alan Saidi
Senior Vice-President, COO & CTOAlan Saidi is the Senior Vice-President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technical Officer of ACEI. Since the inception of Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, Inc. (ACEI) in 1994, Alan has been involved in the on-going development and enhancement of ACEI’s electronic database on world education systems and credential equivalencies. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering with prior experience in both academe and business, Alan’s automation of ACEI’s evaluation services and client database provides ACEI’s evaluators and support team with immediate access to country specific credentials that help promote consistency and accuracy in educational equivalency reporting. Alan has also been the developer and designer of the digital transformation of evaluation reports and cloud based data for ACEI's sensitive data, reports and educational documents. Alan has regularly led training workshops and is a presenter on foreign educational systems and international credential evaluation standards at webinars and various professional conferences. Alan is a frequent contributor to ACEI-Global.blog, and authored updates for publications, including the NAFSA On-line Guide to Education Systems Around the World.
Nora S. Khacheturians
In Memoriam . . . Executive Director ACEINora S. Khacheturians is the Executive Director of the Evaluation and Translation Departments of Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, Inc. (ACEI). Prior to joining ACEI, Nora served as Director of University Placement at ELS Language Centers (USA) from 1982 to 2006. She was the founder and President of EDWAM Services Institute and the Director of AFME/ADMIDEAST in Tehran, Iran. Nora holds business degrees from Switzerland and the United Kingdom. She has worked closely with U.S. admissions officers and international student advisers in their efforts to effectively recruit and admit foreign students candidates to their institutions. She brings to ACEI a rich global history with extensive experience in international education, student counseling and placement. Nora is a frequent contributor to ACEI-Global.blog, and oversees training and professional development of ACEI’s international credential evaluation team.

The ACEI library has a complete set of published historical and current reference materials needed for evaluation of international educational credentials. ACEI also has a robust digital library with subscriptions to a number of recognized platforms for information on world education systems. In addition, ACEI library includes in its archives, samples of hundreds of thousands of educational credentials from various institutions abroad, catalogs and prospectus from academic institutions throughout the world, and sample syllabi/course descriptions, which are periodically up-dated.
ACEI’s team of evaluators have contributed to a series of publications on world educational systems sponsored by AACRAO and NAFSA as well as AICE that are used as sources of reference by other professionals in the industry.
ACEI has developed and continues to update a proprietary-based International Database of Educational Systems (IDES). This Database offers the ACEI evaluating team immediate access to educational systems, credentials and verification of institution status to assure continuous consistency in evaluation reports. ACEI also subscribes to AACRAO EDGE (Electronic Database on Global Education) Database; a web-based resource for the evaluation of international educational credentials.
